Dr. Amaya practices functional, integrative and internal medicine to find an alternative to achieve better health and well being. She is able to put all the pieces together utilizing the most up-to-date Western laboratory testing protocols as well as including Eastern healing methods to find the causes that are making you feel ill.
She emphasizes on the individual, not the disease. Dr. Amaya believes that it is simply not enough to treat the symptoms but to find the underlying cause, whose source involves not just a body part or an abnormal lab function, but also the person as a whole, taking into account the complexity of interactions of the mind, body and spirit relationship.
Dr. Amaya will personalize a treatment plan which may include options in nutritional supplements as an adjunct to dietary and lifestyle modification. Recommendations may also include meditation to nutritional transformation focused on optimizing gut and brain health as these are important aspects for reaching a healthy state.
In 2016, Dr. Amaya developed Meridian Access Therapy and Meridian-Meditation based on EFT acupressure points to facilitate her patients reach a highly effective meditative style.
Dr. Amaya graduated in 1996 from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her philosophy has always been to embrace each symptom as part of something bigger, and by bringing together the body-mind-spirit connection into the treatment design; we are many steps closer to healing the whole person, one patient at a time.
